Ford has officially introduced the fifth generation of Transit Commercial Van
Finally! Ford has officially launched the Transit Commercial van in its fifth generation and it will go on sale in two variants of diesel and being a high roof panel van 350L and with 13-seats medium window van 370L. The v347 was recently replaced by the latest sixth generation in Europe and North America. Ford transit sold untill now in Malaysia was fourth generation, but now after local assembly instigation fifth generation has been introduced.
It is a proven workhorse and has over seven million global sales, and now the transit is sold in 116 markets around six continents. Both CKD transit body types are rear wheel drive offer 2.2 Litre Duratorq TDCi engine with 155hp that produce 385 Nm of torque at 1600 rpm and it is exclusively mated to six speed transmission. It is a manual MT82 6-Speed box that sounds similar to the Combi box in the Ranger T6.
Interior has the best cabin with standard fit items include fabric seats, manual air conditioning and two speaker CD audio system, all seats are equipped with three points seatbelts and roof mounted rear AC vents for passengers on the rear seats. There are hammers provided for emergency evacuation purposes.
As for protection and security kit, there’s ABS with EBD and brake assist, hill launch assist, and the Window Van variant adds on electronic stability program (ESP) and brake traction control system (TCS).
