Short history of Ford Transit

From 2013 North America started manufacturing Ford Transit on commercial basis which is now in its fourth generation. This light commercial vehicle was the third best-selling van in 2016 with up to 8 million selling units and only beaten by Fiesta and Focus.

The basic engine for the Ford Transit is 169 horsepower 2.5 litre inline-4, which gets 171 foot-pound of torque. Ford Transit is available in three various engines. There is 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 standard engine with 275 horsepower, 3.2 L inline turbo diesel engine which makes 185 horsepower with 350 pound-foot of torque. There is a turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 which makes 310 horsepower and 400 pound-foot torque. All engines are equipped with six speed automatic transmission system.

And when we talk about mileage, we get 20 city/28 highway on the van and 19 city/27 highway on the wagon. Next to van, wagon is a bit heavier in its efficiency.With three various roof sizes, Transit is a spacious van with two wheelbases of double and single wheel axles. In standard features disc brakes in all four wheels, stability control, power steering wheel and variable intermittent vipers are included.
