What else would be a good way to celebrate 50 years than to run Golden Fords for promotion
Ford has produced Golden edition of its insanely popular van, Ford Transit. A fleet has been dispatched to roam around events, public places, shows and dealerships until 8/9 August, the day or anniversary. Five decades of loyal service have been marked by the tour of these Golden Transit Connect, Courier, Custom and two-tonne Transit vehicles.
Ford has built over 8 million Transit and Transit Custom models ever since the very first van left production line on August 9, 1965 in Langley, England. So it became one of the most admired, and wanted vehicle, ploughing way to a whole new range of Transit van, suitable for every walk of life.
This whole family line-up has expanded to a wide range featuring four models of Transit, Transit Connect, Transit Courier and Transit Custom. With a 43 per cent increase in sales, 16,497 marked the highest number ever attained.
A wide majority of Ford Transit consumers stated that it doesn’t matter what kind of business they are running, whether it’s moving people or moving houses, Transit is the best and essential tool to get the job done in an adequate manner. We all love it that we literally sleep in it or work in it, don’t want to leave it for a single moment.
Thanks to the variants and vast range of body-styles offered by Ford Transit, we see them working absolutely fine in many guises like the parcel van, campervan, tipper trucks or even the Cosworth V8 Supervan, which is outrageous for sure.
Ever since the first Transit rolled out of the production line, it became so popular that in 1976, it achieved first million milestone and with each passing year, next milestone became easier. In 1985, it attained the second million and then in 1994, 2000, 2005, 2010 and at last 2013. Ford is hoping to top 9 million during 2015 for the Transit Courier and total Transit production.
